SORTI: Storage Output and Resource Transfer Interface

SORTI is the storage-output half of the automation work: put items into SORTI, and it distributes them into nearby matching containers.

What SORTI does

SORTI scans nearby containers and moves items outward into storage that already contains matching item stacks. It is meant to reduce repetitive base sorting without turning storage into a free-for-all vacuum.

Rules and protections

  • Only secure, non-broken SORTI blocks distribute items.
  • Locked target containers require matching passwords with the SORTI block.
  • Base siphoning protection can clamp the search area to the land claim containing the SORTI block.
  • Horizontal and vertical range are configurable, with -1 available for unlimited vertical range.
  • Debug logging can be toggled for troubleshooting.

Player purpose

SORTI is for the after-the-run mess: dump items into a trusted automation block and let the server move them to the right nearby boxes when those boxes already define where things belong.

Credit note: Bad Neighbors is working from the great work of earlier 7 Days to Die mod builders, including the people who built and maintained the original ServerTools ideas. Some additions are new experiments; others are updated, more refined versions of ideas that have been circulating in the modding community for years. We want the record to reflect that community foundation.
